The manufacturers, Pfizer, faced questions about whether they could lower their prices to match retail prices.
Both CVS and Walmart have agreed to pay a stipend-based price for the original version of the drug, and the manufacturer will be able to offer it for free to customers who require it.
Prices vary, but often are influenced by several factors, including health insurance, pharmacy location and competitor prices.
